I like that we can talk about emotional things which can be quite nerve wracking to explain and go through. When we walk, I feel much more able to regulate physically and I also like that you are literally by my side which feels very supportive and also like walking with a friend. It makes me much more comfortable sharing my thoughts and feelings.

I feel more able to be vulnerable because we are walking, and I can say things without eye contact, which just seems easier. The surroundings change which allows for a little distraction as well, and it feels more like a chat with a friend.

Walk & Talk sessions give you a powerful tool for promoting overall well-being. Walking therapy provides a safe and supportive environment to explore and address emotional and behavioral issues while enjoying the benefits of exercise and fresh air.

Walking is a low-impact exercise that can improve cardiovascular health, increase strength and stamina, aid in weight management, and improve bone health. But did you know that walking can also have a positive impact on mental health? Walking releases endorphins, which can boost mood and reduce stress and anxiety, coupled with the opportunity to be heard and discuss any issues you are facing with a mental health professional in a comfortable environment makes for an amazing ‘You’ time.

Therapy can alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other issues, while also improving coping skills, increase self-awareness, enhance problem-solving skills, and improve relationships.

Any outdoor space used for walking is suitable for walk and talk sessions. It’s just a case of being dressed for the weather and the terrain.
